What is Counselling?
Counselling provides a safe, impartial, and confidential space in which to explore your thoughts and feelings, which can help people who find it difficult to confide in friends or family. The process may at times bring up some uncomfortable feelings and memories, but I will sit beside you and together we can work to help you reconcile your issues or find some useful tools and techniques to help you cope with them. Counselling can provide clarity around our thoughts and feelings. It can help us to change unhelpful patterns and experience more satisfying lives.

My therapeutic approach
My style of counselling is integrative and I work with aspects of these approaches.
· Psychodynamic (exploring past experiences and childhood)
· CBT (changing negative thought patterns into positives)
· Humanistic (person centred, individual needs)
I will draw upon what I have learned and tailor the sessions to your own individual requirements to ensure you get the most from them.
What I can help with
I have worked with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, bereavement, relationship difficulties, work issues, abuse, affairs and betrayals, alcoholism, anger management, family issues, gambling, loneliness, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, stress, suicidal thoughts and trauma.
My professional association is the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
The BACP specifies ethics in counselling and professional conduct for counsellors to follow. As a practising counsellor, I am required to attend regular individual supervision and hold professional insurance.
I am a qualified supervisor and currently taking on new clients. Please get in touch if you are a counsellor looking for a supervisor.
When you first get in touch, we will find a mutually convenient time for a consultation. This initial meeting lasts for 40 minutes and will give us the opportunity to discuss the issues that affect you the most and how you hope therapy can help. It is an opportunity for you to see if I might be the right therapist for you.
The initial consultation costs £20.
Counselling sessions cost: £35 per hour
Supervision fees £40 per hour £60 for 1.5hrs
If we agree that we can work together, we will also discuss other matters such as fees, confidentiality, cancellation of sessions and holiday times. We will also agree a day and time to meet each week.
